Acquisition of a Prime Inner-City Property in Vienna
Vienna, 5 March 2026
With closing completed at the end of January 2026, Muzicant Holding has acquired the historic property located at Kärntner Straße 16 / Neuer Markt 2 in 1010 Vienna.
Originally constructed between 1894 and 1897 according to plans by architect Karl Hofmeier, the building is considered one of the defining landmarks of Vienna’s historic city centre. Already at the turn of the 20th century, the property served as a vibrant social meeting point with international flair. The façade facing Kärntner Straße, featuring artistically designed mosaics by Eduard Veith that were restored after the Second World War, continues to shape the building’s distinctive appearance to this day. The combination of historical identity, a prime location between Kärntner Straße and Neuer Markt, and a well-established long-term commercial use underlines the exceptional quality of this asset.
The transaction was structured as an asset deal. The parties have agreed not to disclose further details of the transaction. The property will be held as part of the long-term portfolio and further developed strategically.
With this acquisition, Muzicant Holding continues to consistently pursue its long-term investment strategy while further strengthening its presence in Vienna’s city centre. We will continue to actively review attractive investment opportunities in Austria and Germany.
